I need an online consultation...lol. I chopped off all of my hair, but the very front is not
growing as fast as the rest of my hair, its real thin. What do you suggest I can put on in
for it too grow? Thanks!
Answer: Miquelle Lombard
Well, unfortunately there is no magic formula for extra speedy hair growth just yet. But,
there are a few things that can be done to speed up the growth a little.
1. Scalp Stimutation- stimulate your scalp by a vigorous massage. This will help blood
flow to that area, which in turn promotes growth.
2. Vitamins- Biotin (I've personally experienced great results! Though my hair grows
normally at a rapid pace, I have recently started taking vitamins and I feel that it may
have aided in my hair growing out so fast. You can see from my pics in my album " Bald
headed Beauty" I had no hair. That was in September. Now I think it has grown out a
considerable amount in a short amount of time...I'm very pleased.
Protein Is Important also
Since hair is protein, a diet that is too low in protein may cause some thinning in hair or
a retardation in the growth cycle. The converse is true, If you eat a protein-rich diet it
will often result in improved hair growth.
3. Keep the hair well conditioned and trim regularly. Be sure to shampoo the hair as
often as necessary and add products that condition and moisturize the hair.
Just be good to your hair and your hair will be good to you!

comments = I have cut my hair off and started over again, I started using protein
treatments every two weeks and now my hair is coarse and I have started using a
relaxer to keep my hair straight and to where I can comb it. The relaxer that I use I only
keep it in for 10 minutes and it seems to do well until about 2weeks and then I reapply
my relaxer, am I hurting my hair by applying the relaxer so often even though I am only
keeping it in for 10 minutes?

Wow!!!!!!! You're doing waaaaay to much to you're hair. Please Stop immediately before
more damage is caused. It sounds as though you've been going overboard with the
protein and the chemicals as well.
If your hair is damaged, breaking, shedding, or in a damaged state, in some cases, it
may be a good idea to have a protein conditioning treatment applied but its best to
have a professional make that determination.
Adding protein can strengthen the hair but too much can cause it to become extremely
dry and brittle. Healthy hair has a good balance between protein and moisture. It is
best to see your haircare professional (Stylist) so that he/ she may analyze the hair to
determine the type of damage and the type of treatment that would best remedy the
situation. This is the best way to avoid over or under conditioning the hair.
Additionally, the use of a relaxer on a bi-weekly basis is highly unadvised, even for
short periods of time. The chemicals in relaxers/ and other straighteners are very
powerful, as the chemicals are strong enough to permanently alter the texture of the
hair. Continued use on such a frequent basis, can potentially cause irrepairable
damage to the hair and scalp.
I advise you to please discontinue use of the chemicals and treatments at once. Also, I
encourage you to see your Hair care professional and have an analysis taken of your
hair and sclap. This way, you may be advised on what you may do to correct the
situation and bring forth the healthy, shiny, beautiful hair that I'm sure you can achieve.
